Hidden Pattern (“we”, “us”) operates hiddenpattern.xyz and app.hiddenpattern.xyz. Contact: hello@hiddenpattern.xyz.

This policy explains how we collect and use personal data when you buy or use our personalised astrology PDF reports (the Child Jyotish Report and the Relationship Report, each ₹699) and the Hidden Pattern Map (₹699). We act as the Data Fiduciary under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act").

1. Data we collect

Birth details you enter: name, date of birth, time of birth, place of birth (and its map coordinates and time zone). For the Child Jyotish Report, your child's details.
Contact details: email address, and phone number if you give it.
Order and payment records: order ID, product, amount, payment status and the payment reference from our payment provider. We never see or store your card, UPI PIN or bank login.
Consent records: whether you consented, when, and which version of this policy you saw.
Campaign and analytics data, unless you opt out: the ad or link that brought you (UTM tags), identifiers set by our analytics and advertising measurement tools, pages viewed and purchase events. No birth details are included.
Technical logs: IP address, browser and request logs on our server, kept for security.

2. Why we use it (purpose and legal basis)

To generate your report and email it to you. Basis: your consent at checkout (Section 6 of the DPDP Act).
To take payment, prevent fraud and handle payment issues. Basis: your consent and our legal obligations.
To keep tax and accounting records. Basis: legal obligation.
To measure our ads and improve the site. Analytics is on by default, and you can opt out at any time with the "Opt out of analytics" switch at the foot of our pages. Opting out does not affect your purchase.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your birth details for advertising.

3. Children's data

Our services are for adults (18+). The Child Jyotish Report is bought by a parent or lawful guardian, who enters the child's details. By ticking the consent box, you confirm you are the child's parent or lawful guardian and give verifiable consent, as the DPDP Act requires, to process the child's details for this report only. We do not track, profile or send advertising to children, and no analytics identifiers are linked to a child's details.

4. Who we share it with

Our astrology calculation partner: receives the name and birth details to calculate the chart and produce the PDF. It acts as our Data Processor.
Payment provider: processes your payment under its own privacy policy.
Email delivery provider: sends the report and order emails.
Hosting provider: stores our server, database and PDFs.
Analytics and advertising measurement tools: on by default unless you opt out. They receive page and purchase events and identifiers such as cookies, from your browser and from our server. We send no birth details to them.
Government or law enforcement, where the law requires it.

Some of these providers process data outside India. We transfer data only to countries not restricted by the Government of India under Section 16 of the DPDP Act.

5. How long we keep it

Birth details: kept only as long as needed to create and deliver your report and resolve support requests, then deleted.
Report PDFs and download links: links work for 30 days; files are deleted when no longer needed.
Order, payment and invoice records: kept for 8 years for tax and accounting law.
Consent records: kept as long as the order record, to show consent was given.
Server logs: kept under normal log retention for security and debugging, then deleted.
Analytics data: follows the retention settings of each analytics and advertising measurement tool.

6. Cookies and analytics choices

Our analytics and advertising measurement tools are on by default when you visit our pages. There is no banner. To opt out, turn on the "Opt out of analytics" switch at the foot of the page. We then store a small browser setting to remember your choice, clear the measurement cookies these tools set, and stop loading them in that browser. You can turn the switch off again at any time. Opting out does not affect your purchase or your report.

7. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you can ask to access a summary of your data, correct or update it, erase it, withdraw consent, and nominate someone to act for you. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already done, and if the report has not been made yet, we cannot make it. Email hello@hiddenpattern.xyz. We may need to verify your identity, and we keep records the law requires us to keep.

8. Security

We use HTTPS, restricted server access and private, expiring download links. If a breach affects your data, we will inform you and the Data Protection Board as the law requires.

9. Contact and complaints

Questions, requests or complaints about privacy: hello@hiddenpattern.xyz. If you are not satisfied with our reply, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India once it accepts complaints.

10. Changes

We will post any change here with a new effective date and version. If a change affects how we use data you already gave us, we will ask for your consent again.
